Celebration For The Nations
April 2010
'You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will only defeat it three times' .
2 Kings 13:19.
Gareth brought this scripture to us at the last Celebration monthly meeting.
This was Elisha's word to King Jehoash of Israel. Jehoash was a half-hearted king. He followed the evil ways of his father, and did not turn away from sin. His actions reflected his attitude. At the critical time he was found wanting. We too can reach decisive times in our lives, and if we are not walking in wholehearted obedience, we may be found wanting.
The Lord has told us to keep striking the ground, not to stop until the wells are opened and the living water is flowing again. We are now in our fourth year. Let's not settle for partial victory, but let us keep striking the ground even up to our seventh year!
Celebration Mobile Team
The Celebration Mobile Team have finally arrived in Llanelli! It has been wonderful to have the four girls (So Young, Sun Hye, Jee Eun, Hye Sun), seven guys (Jung Sup, Hoon, Soo Ho, Jae Won, Jung Jin, Jin Soo, Hong), and a married couple (Hyeon Jo & Yong Il) along with Suk Kwang’s family here with us. Hong Jung, one of the youngest team members, shared his testimony saying:
As I was praying about joining the Mobile Team, I felt God saying ‘Take off your shoes because this is holy ground’. Those shoes signified the way I lived my Christian life in Korea. I feel God desires to do something new in me because I have chosen to stand on God’s holy ground. As we worship and pray for revival, God will do something new in this nation and among the nations.
Many of them had to give up their jobs, future plans and family to be obedient to God’s calling to the Celebration Mobile Team. Several of them shared how their family started to go to church after they decided to come to Wales. It seems as if God is directly pouring His blessings on the family members because of their obedience.
All thirteen of them are living in the Nations Centre right now and although community living has its challenges, they all have very positive and open attitudes. Suk Kwang and his family just moved into their new home two weeks ago. Please pray for the team and Suk Kwang as they continue to adjust and settle into a new life here in Wales.
March and April will be devoted to preparation and training. English classes and lectures from the Robert Jermain Thomas Acadamy, street worship, prayer meetings, drama practice (and cooking Korean food) fills up their days. Suk Kwang, the team leader, sees this time as the Word of God taking root in the heart of the team, just like the inception of the Word, being sown and grown in the belly of each team member. Starting from May onwards, the Celebration Mobile Team plans to go out to the local community, churches and meetings. Please pray that God will connect the team to the right churches and meetings. Please also pray that the team will be able to get a vehicle soon, so that they really can be a ‘mobile’ Mobile Team!
Spring Celebration
The Spring Celebration is coming up on 8th May, Saturday at 7:30 pm in the Swansea City Temple! Suk Kwang (Celebration Mobile Team) and Sam Leonard (Llanelli Elim) will be leading the worship that evening. We want this time to be a gathering of many Welsh churches and worshippers. There is power in praising God’s name together and praying together for revival in Wales and the nations. So, if you are living in this area, please mark this date in your calendars and come! Let the word out in your churches! Bring your family and friends with you as well!
Worship team from Cardiff
During the National Prayer Breakfast for Wales, we met Cath Woolridge who is a very gifted and bilingual (Welsh and English) worship leader. When Gail contacted her about Celebration For The Nations, this was her response:
‘All I can say is WAW! God has been doing a huge 'deep calls to deep' work in me recently and speaking to me so much about how hope for the nation is going to come through song. As I read your article it was as though my heart was playing the same melody and it got me so very excited.’
Praise the Lord that He is bringing together worship teams with the same heart and vision!
Gail’s visit to America
Gail was in America from March 18-24, where she was able to visit several Korean churches/youth groups, and (at the last minute) a gathering of Filipino Assemblies of God pastors. The main reason for this visit was to share the vision that started Celebration for the Nations and ask people to pray about joining us this year. The Celebration is not just a week's event once a year (however glorious that time is), but part of an intercession for the final outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all flesh.
Some of the leaders (Korean and Filipino) have embraced the vision of Celebration for the Nations and are praying about coming and bringing young people with them. It will be fantastic if, for the first time, we could have a Filipino worship team. That is yet to be seen, but it looks possible that several Filipino leaders will join us. Some key East Coast Korean American leaders also want to come, and many of the young people are saying that they will be there! An anointed worship leader from New Hope Church is coming, and a group of artists are also praying about being with us. Hallelujah!
Korea etc
Gail will be in Korea from April 18th - May 4th with Revival Korea to speak and share in various churches and Christian groups. Please pray for safety in her travels and good physical health. Pray that she will be fully in-tune with God’s heart to deliver the Word wherever she goes. Pray too for Revival Korea as they come straight from a tour in America. If you are in Korea the itinerary can be seen (in Korean) by going to www.revivalkorea.org.
We have recently received an offering for £2,000 for the Celebration for the Nations from an English church. Praise the Lord for His constant provision!
