Celebration for the Nations
June 2010

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands (Deuteronomy 7:9).

Celebration for the Nations is about unblocking the wells of God's original intentions for our nations. The Lord has promised that as we worship him, his Spirit will break out. He made a covenant of love, and sealed it with the blood of his dear son, Jesus.
He will keep that covenant with those who give themselves in love to him, to a thousand generations.

Every nation is joined to another if we go far enough back (mankind has not come near to living for a thousand generations). There is a little verse in Psalm 22 which I believe must have been of great comfort to Jesus as he hung on the Cross:

'All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord' (Psalm 22:27).

It would seem that there is something in the deep memory of people in every nation that can be awakened. The covenant of love is open to all mankind. Those who have gone before us, who now form the great cloud of witnesses testify to it. Let's dig out the wells that our fathers dug, with worship, and obedience to the Great Commission, and release the deep memory in the souls of people, of God's faithful covenant offer to them.

The Celtic Cross
This fourth year of Celebration for the Nations is linked in my mind with the fourth altar that Abraham made, the one on Moriah, where he was willing to sacrifice Isaac. It was a foreshadowing of the Cross of Christ. I believe that the Lord wants to take us deeper this year in our journey and identification with him. He is inviting us to take up our cross daily and follow him for the sake of what he wants to do.

The Celtic Cross gives a beautiful picture of our goals. The circle has been said to represent the world. The Cross breaks through (overcomes) the world on every side! It brings heaven to earth. Maria Jin pointed out to me, that the Cross breaks out in four places, perhaps representing the flow again of those four wonderful rivers from Eden: Increase, Breakout, Rapid, Fruitfulness!

23rd -25th June: A time of prayer, preparation and fasting
The Lord spoke to us several months ago that we are on holy ground. We need to take our shoes off and listen to him. One practical way of doing that is putting aside time for prayer and fasting. We are inviting all who are with us in this intercession to join as you can. If you are not able to fast for the whole time, consider missing a meal a day, or doing a vegetable-only fast.

For those in Wales, we will be meeting on Friday 25th June at 7.30pm in the Nations International Centre at the end of the fasting period to pray and worship together.

By the way, if you are local to Llanelli, join us for our fund-raising Curry Night on Monday 21st June (7:30 pm) at the Veranda, 11 Hall Street SA15 3BB. Cost £10, £5 of which will go towards the Celebration.

Celebration Mobile Team in Ireland (2nd-9th June)
The team was in Ireland for a week to worship, pray and network, with various prayer groups. We really experienced God as the ‘Lord of the Breakthrough’! In the street worship, the prayer ‘drives’, the worship times, and prayer meetings, we really sensed a breakthrough in the heavenly realms!

God encouraged us through a stranger during our street worship in Newcastle when she shared “The Lord told me to stop and tell you that you have the key to unlock the heavens in this area”. Praise the Lord! That is exactly what it felt like as we travelled from place to place (Newcastle, Newry, Enniskillen, Ballyconnell, Longford, Sligo, Omagh and back to Belfast). In each of these places, God blessed us with his presence and according to Sam Hagan (Irish coordinator for this trip) “The spiritual impact your team has left in Ireland goes beyond what you and I can comprehend.” We saw and felt God actively releasing, restoring, and healing the people and the land.

As a result, several people from Ireland will be joining this year’s Celebration. There is one family in particular who had received the same words and vision of ‘Spring Up O Well’ several years ago. So we are excited to have them come this year!

Ireland, a nation which once was a bright beacon to shine God’s light to all of Europe, still has men and women who desire for this nation to be used by God in the same way. Ireland and Wales (both with a Celtic heritage) have the same prayer: “Lord send your revival once again to this nation, so that we may be used by you for the nations.” Amen! It has been such a joy and privilege to participate in lighting that fire and joy among God’s people. Thank you so much for all your prayers!

Can you help?

The “not so” mobile team!
The Celebration Mobile Team bought two seven-seater vehicles, but one broke down soon after they started to use it and needs a £1500 repair. Please pray with them for the best way ahead. Are there any mechanics in the area who can help?

Translation equipment
It is a joy to have a team from Nantes in France joining us this year. We want to be able to offer translation to those who speak neither English or Korean. We have looked into hiring translation headsets for 10 people and 1 translator, and the cheapest quote so far is £1000! That is to hire, not to buy. Does anyone know where we might be able to borrow or buy some second hand equipment?

Hospitality
We are looking to place some older individuals and some families with local people. If you have a spare room (or know of someone going on holiday who will lend us their house) 23rd-30th July, please get in touch. You would only need to provide bed and breakfast. Thanks!

Others
The Celebration poster is on the website (www.celebrationforthenations.org) Please feel free to print and post it on your church bulletin board or wherever you want Celebration to be known!

Also, we just got word from Revival Korea that airfares to the UK have gone up to 50% compared to last year. Please pray that cheaper flights will become available soon and that finances will not prevent people from coming to the Celebration.

Blessings.
