Celebration for the Nations
Prayer and Worship Watch 19th July 2007
Dear Friends,
'Gather the people together, and I will give them water'
'Spring up O well!'
This may well be the last update before the Celebration unless, by some miracle, I get time next week! As the Celebration comes near, there seems so much to do, to prepare for all of you coming. However, our hearts are warmed in anticipation of a vision becoming reality! The Lord said that as we gather together and sing, he will give the breakout!
There is opposition, which adds to our determination to move forward. Jonathan Lewis is the Welsh worship leader, and his wife, Nicola had to go to hospital last week, just at the time of a worship rehearsal, and was found to have gallstones. Kyoo-Dae Lee, who has been so instrumental in the prayer and growing of the Celebration, as well as holding the website, is now in hospital with suspected Tuberculosis. We have been told he could be there for about a week. Do pray for rest and deep recovery for him, as he is exhausted. Please excuse us if we cannot any longer update the website. Our phone lines were down for two days due to a technical fault. They are back to normal now. Sorry if you were trying to get through.
Join us in prayer for the health and well being of all concerned in the Celebration, and their families, and for all the technical things to work as they should!! Please hold the team, as people are tired, and mistakes can easily be made.
Preparation
It is wonderful to hear from Mizoram and Korea of the blessing in the preparation time for the Celebration. We can say the same here in Wales. There is a sense of the Lord's pleasure as we meet, and people do not want to stop worshipping Him!
Finance
Praise God we now stand at around £43,000 - that is about £1000 more since last week. Thank you to everyone who has given. We need major breakthrough to be able to pay all the bills. Total costs, including the camp site, will exceed £70,000. Please stand with us and consider any part the Lord may be asking you to take. We are subsidising the camp site. It will cost over £15,000 to have, but because we have kept the costs low to help students, we will only receive £7000 or £8000 of that. This is a journey of faith for all of us. Many of the Koreans coming are paying more than £800 just to get here. Each one will have their own faith story when we gather together. How pleasing to God!
Filming
We have been searching in the UK for someone to film the Celebration, but no one would be able to be there the whole time. We have just heard that Mr. Kim, a producer from Korea, will be at the Celebration and able to film!
Volunteers
Praise the Lord for the growing team of volunteers. However we would still like more. If you would like to give some time during the week to serving everyone else, please contact Christiane Furmann at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
The work of God is to believe
That was Jesus' answer to his disciples when they asked him how to do the works God requires (John 6:28-29). Faith is being sure of what we hope for. As you prepare to come, be sure of what you are hoping for. Our faith will join together, and the Lord will do what only He can, bringing the breakout of the waters of life to change us, and change our societies!
See you on the Festival Fields!
Gail and the Celebration Team.
