Celebration for the Nations
Update April 2007

When Israel sang for the well to 'spring up', they were using the same word that the angel who wrestled with Jacob used when he told him that the day was breaking. Spring up, shoot forth, break the day, they are all related in Hebrew.

Jacob fought through the night as a deceiver who had wasted so much of his life trying to work things out his own way. However he entered the new day as a Prince with God who had struggled and overcome. As we sing to the well, wasted lives will be redeemed, even wasted years in our own lives. A new day will dawn and an army of overcomers will rise up.

Korea
I have just returned from an exciting time in Korea! I found such heart fellowship with Ko Hyung Won and the Revival Korea team. One of Hyung Won's heart prayers is from Psalm 110:3. It is a verse I have already mentioned in these updates in regard to the Celebration. It too talks of a new day:

'Your people will volunteer freely in the day of your power;
In holy array from the womb of the dawn
Your youth are to you as the dew' (NASB)

Our prayer of agreement is for a day of his power to dawn. The people, including youth beyond number like the dew, willingly volunteer to proclaim the victory that Jesus has already won throughout the nations. Of course Celebration will not be the only event calling in this new day. I believe that we will find around the world at this time, on smaller and larger scale, people gathering led into the same purpose by the same Holy Spirit.

A month or so ago, I was praying on the Festival Fields where the Celebration will be held, as the sun was coming up. I had walked the length of the field, and turned back to be dazzled by the wonder of millions of blades of grass shimmering with innumerable droplets of dew. This is how the youth will come, arrayed in holy majesty from the womb of the dawn!

While I was in Korea hundreds of young people (and not a few older ones) stood to declare their wish to come to the Celebration. I was under a misapprehension when I went out. I thought that they had already recruited 400. However after a couple of confusing days I discovered that is their goal. I think that they will achieve or exceed it judging from the interest shown, despite the fact that the airfare alone will cost each person the equivalent of £700. Please join us in prayer for the Lord to provide miracles of finance, holiday time etc for all who should come. Finance
The Welsh Church Fund, in co-operation with Carmarthenshire County Council have given us a grant of £3000 towards the Celebration. It is great to have this tangible support and approval from local authorities. The Korean churches, and some individuals were very generous and I came back with about £3700 to pay into the Celebration account. With other gifts that have come in we now have about half the money we need! Praise the Lord.

Tents
We are setting up a campsite next to the main Celebration Field. We need to provide shelter for those without their own tents, and are looking for several large marquees. This is proving to be a challenge, as many companies have already rented them out for this peak season. It occurred to me that there may be people out there who are, or know of others who would be willing to lend or rent any large tents. Please contact us with any information you may have.

Let my people go, so that they may worship me
The Lord's word through Moses seems strongly appropriate today as we pray for the right people from the nations to come to the Celebration.

We have found a deep prayer for German people to come in the last few weeks. One of the reasons that the revival well from Wales was blocked was the First World War. It seems fitting that believers from the main nations involved in that should worship together in the Celebration.

A friend of mine, Keren Lilly recently got in touch again after many years, having come across the Celebration website. As we were praying for Germany she sent some news that feeds that prayer. I asked if I could use her findings, so she researched a few more details, which you can see below,

1906 - revival breaks out in Kassel, Germany, inspired jointly by the Welsh Revival (via Sweden) and by the pentecostal outbreak in Azusa Street. It's a move of God accompanied by shaking and riotuous laughter. It offends the established churches, who compare it to various cult movements and decide it is demonic...

1909 - The denominational leaders in Germany gather to sign a declaration in Berlin condemning this move of the Spirit as "not from above, but rather from below" - that's the Berliner Erklärung that so grieved the Holy Spirit.

From this time onwards the German nation becomes open season for the enemy, first Kaiser Bill becomes fascinated with ancient Egyptian religion and then lets loose the horrors of the first World War, then as evil darkens the stage is laid open for the ultimate horror of Nazism

1996 - finally this grieving of the Spirit was addressed when the German Evangelical alliance (Deutschen Evangelischen Allianz) and the Free-church Pentecostals (Bundes Freikirklicher Pfingstgemeinden) signed the Kasseler Declaration ("Kasseler Erklärung"), committing themselves once more to unity and breaking down the emnity between those practising the charismatic gifts and the mainstream evangelicals (the spiritual descendants of those who signed the Berliner Declaration). I've heard tell that the meeting was unprecedented for the brokenness and weeping with which church leaders sought reconciliation with each other and repented their denominational conflicts.

The way has been prepared for another outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Germany. Let's pray for it! Ask the Lord for his choice of German worshippers to join us in the Celebration too.

Prayer week
We are planning a special week of prayer and worship to prepare for the Celebration, starting Saturday evening 2nd June and running through to Saturday lunchtime 9th June. This will follow the same time period as the actual Celebration. We will let you know more of the form it will take in the next update. On 5th-6th June 'Again 1907' a group in Korea who are praying for another outpouring of the Spirit as in 1907, are planning for 10 000 people to gather near the border of North Korea to pray and worship the Lord. The 1907 revival that so affected the dynamic church in South Korea today, started in the North, Pyoung Yang. There is a huge well to be unblocked. I feel the fact that our pray week overlaps with this is no coincidence. 'Again 1907' are very much behind the Celebration.

The Lord of the breakout is with us! Let's not wait for the Celebration, but let's sing to the wells in North Korea, in Germany, in Wales, in the nations! The Lord has been promising us miracles even before the Celebration. When we meet and sing in July we will already have great testimonies to share!

Keep singing,
Gail and the Celebration Team.
