Celebration for the Nations
Update February 2007
We are in the year of the Breakout! At the Loughor preparation meeting this month an Eritrean young lady brought Jeremiah 33:1-3. She spoke about us being confined, as Jeremiah was confined, but that the Lord had already made incredible plans, because he is the 'maker', the 'former' and the 'establisher'. The Lord's invitation is
'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things that you do not know'.
The Celebration is like a doorway, or a birth, we need to push, both to open a door or birth a baby, and we sense the Lord is saying 'push now'. This is not done in human strength, it is to do with faith. 'Call' is one of those commands like 'sing'. We can all do it, no matter how weakly. Let's push through apathy, fear, unbelief, in ourselves and the society around us, and 'call' to the Lord who has already prepared great and unsearchable things for us!
Mizo Warriors
This land once famous for its head hunters, is now known for the mighty move of God that happened out of the Welsh Revival in 1906, and continued on throughout the last century in wave after wave leaving the nation 87% Christian, with the highest missionary sending average per head of population in the world.
The Rev. Sangkhuma is one of those missionaries. He has come back to Wales. He and his family will be involved in the Celebration. He wrote to me saying:
I recently received a very encouraging message from DR. P.C. BIAKSIAMAPh.D., D.D, an Evangelist and apologetic defender who resigned from a top ranking Union Finance department, in the Government of India, informing me that God had alreadyTEN (10) MIZOS different gifts to the meeting in Llanelli. They are fasting and praying for the preparation and success of this meeting. Dr. Siama's wife SAPI is a gifted preacher and also has a special gift of HEALING.
These 10 delegates are like the 10 LEPERS whom Jesus healed. But unlike those lepers I hope and pray that they are coming here to say THANK YOU WALES FOR GIVING US REVIVAL. Again, they are coming here to give that revival back to Wales. They felt their joy of experiencing revival is not complete unless Welsh people themselves experience the first hand anointing of the Holy Spirit from on high.
Please pray with these 10, and those who are coming from the Khassi Hills, for their financial provision and their visas.
Visas
Steve Coupe has recently spoken to our MP Nia Griffiths to ask her help in approaching the Home Office about Celebration for the Nations to try and make sure that every worshipper wanting to join it can get into Britain. Please pray with us for favour in this whole area. Celebration Teams We are expecting the waters to breakout as we sing, so one real question is how do we prepare for the consequences? In some areas we can't. How can one prepare for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit? And yet...Jesus taught the disciples for 40 days after his resurrection and before his ascension. His subject was the kingdom of God. The scriptures that Peter preached from on the day of Pentecost were more than likely revealed to him in those quiet 'receiving' days before hand. How did they know how to organise the unwieldy baby church? What secrets did the Lord share with them in that intimate time and the ten days of prayer that followed? There is a way to prepare for this Celebration, and it is to do with spending time in the presence of the resurrected Christ.
As we try to do that we have felt that there may be a simple way for those who want to express their love for the Lord to find an outlet in practically. Every church and movement involved in the Celebration could have the chance to recruit a 'Celebration team' or teams. It could be for example, that a team is required for a three week evangelistic effort to help start a youth group in a Welsh Church, or to be part of a two month prayer trip along the Silk Road. It could even be a year long venture or something longer.
Some of the teams could run straight on from the Celebration, others may take place the following year. It could also link up with the Hope 2008 in the UK(www.hope08.com). The overall goal of these teams would be to demonstrate the victory of Jesus Christ ahead of his final victory. In that way they would be taking worship into whatever they were doing.
Our thought at the moment is to offer to compile a leaflet of teams that are required. Each church or movement would be responsible for recruiting and running the team. The leaflet would contain basic information and contact details. Would you please consider if your group/church would like a Celebration Team. We are also wondering about buying in a supply of New Testaments to give to those who make decisions for Christ during the Celebration.
Revival Korea
The team we are working with in Korea are holding regular prayer and preparation times for the Celebration. Listen to one of their reports: 'We prayed for the heart of the heavenly Father towards Wales, we want to have His tears and compassion to bless Wales, so that this nation would rise up again to cause the living waters to flow to other nations as it did 100 years ago.
We pray for God to rebuild the tabernacle of David and fill the Festival Fields with His glory!'
Revival Korea are organising a tour of five or six cities in Korea to spread the word about the Celebration, and have invited Gail to come and share the vision with them 20th March - 4th April. The team have a goal of bringing 400 Koreans to the Celebration! They are planning to charter a plane. Please pray for them in this tremendous undertaking!
Practical Stuff
Accommodation is going to be a key issue. If you are from the Llanelli area and can help by offering beds or floors during the time, please do get in touch. We are still looking for the right sound and light technicians. Gifts through the Breakout 500 and other things are starting to come, some from people giving very sacrificially. May the Lord bless you richly. We now have about 20% of the needed finance, as compared with 5% a month ago! More local people have taken on specific organisational responsibilities, and local churches are beginning to offer help. Gail is still looking for some administrative help, even someone local who could give half a day a week.
Enquiries about the Celebration are coming from some unlikely places including Nepal and Uganda! As we exalt the Lord may he draw the people from the north, south, east and west so that we can gather to give him the glory.
