Celebration for the Nations
Update June 2011

For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
(2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

As we approach nearer Celebration for the Nations this year, the battle intensifies. We are dealing with unseen realities, spiritual powers that are trying to block the weight of glory that the Lord is going to give. However, we, like St Paul, fix our eyes not on our troubles, but on the Lord Jesus himself. Please pray especially for the leadership team . . .

Mizos coming for 40-day prayer and fasting for Wales and the UK
Please join us in prayer for visas for 16 Mizo believers who are joining us at the Celebration as they pray and fast for the UK. They will join with Pastor Zaia and his family who are already in the UK, and maybe more, who are originally from Mizoram. In last month’s update we saw how a Welshman brought the gospel to the Hmar people. The Mizo’s are near neighbours. They saw an outpouring of the Spirit linked with the Welsh 1904 Revival and now 90% of the population is Christian. They are coming to give the only thing that they have (and the most valuable that anyone could give); their bodies, and their hearts in prayer for our nation. They will also be leading some Mizo-style worship!

Egyptians
9 Egyptians are also hoping to join us for the Celebration and then further training. 7 of them have yet to get their visas. Please pray. This is a direct fruit from last year. We will also have some Egyptian-led worship this year. It is such a key time for Egypt and the Middle East. The 1904-07 Revivals were blocked before they could impact the Middle East. It is significant that we have people from the Middle East to help us sing and unblock the well!

Worship Teams
Below is a list of the definite teams that are joining us this year. Please do pray for them as they prepare spiritually and practically to lead us in Celebration for the Nations 2011!

Revival Korea
One Voice (YWAM Korea)
Suk Kwang and Nicola and local Welsh Band
Latin American band from London
Sam’s Rap Band, Wales
Cath Woolridge and team, Wales.
Nick and Sharon and team Nottingham, England
Jun and team from London (Korean)
Andrew from Egypt
Ryan Lee and Burry Port Male Voice Choir
Huw and Liz Priday, Wales

Aline and Howie who have been with us the last four years are trying to get to us, but it looks unlikely this year. A wonderful French worship leader, Fabienne Pons, is also praying about the possibility of joining us.

Church leaders meetings
We have met with church leaders in Llanelli and Swansea, and on July 1st will meet with around 30 church leaders in Cardiff, to share the vision of Celebration for the Nations. Many now know something about it from previous years, and we are building up credibility. Please pray that rather than just agreeing with the vision, people would really get involved. Unity is more than just agreeing together, it needs to involve acting together for the Kingdom’s sake. We also want to be more involved in what is happening in these churches, and serve them in whatever way we can.

Fruitfulness
Let’s continue to pray that this fifth year will be a year of fruitfulness. Pray for the older generation of Welsh people to be drawn to the traditional singing festival on Saturday 23rd July, the Cymanfa Ganu. Pray for the young people to come to the Rap and Latin music of Sunday 24th. We are also doing open-air meetings, and looking forward to using One Voice’s performance team, as well as local people in mime talent!

St Elli
The Nations team is now in a contract race to buy St Elli, a 20-bedroom property. There is another buyer who wants the same property, but they have not been able to complete the deal in the time allotted. So now the vendors are allowing us to enter the race (even though the other party have about 3 weeks’ advantage). Humanly speaking it seems impossible that we could win, but we believe that the Lord is encouraging us. If all goes well, the building could be ours before the Celebration. We are still really short of accommodation, so we need breakthrough somehow! God is good!

Looking forward to worshipping the Lord with you all soon!
He is faithful to his word. He will give us breakthrough as we give ourselves to him in worship.

Yours in Christ

Gail for the Celebration Team.
