Celebration Update : March 09
Repentance is a celebration of God's mercy!
Paul states in Romans chapter 2 that it is God's kindness that leads us to repentance. The Lord is longing for us to be totally free! The reason the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin is to liberate us from its hold. Evan Roberts famous prayer, and perhaps the prelude to the Welsh Revival was simply: 'Bend me O Lord!' .
Repentance simply means to turn. Whether we have to turn 5' or 180' it is important to keep making those adjustments to our lives. A 5' variance to the purpose of God will take us away from it just as really as if we are going in the opposite direction. Jesus is that Way of Holiness that Isaiah prophesied (Chapter 35). There are wonderful promises for those who keep walking on it. The Way may pass through barrenness, but for those on it, the desert will suddenly break out into bloom, just as the crocus does, because the steams of life will spring up. There may be suffering and discouragement, but our feeble hands and the weak knees will find strength in our God. Peter and John were walking on that Way, when they saw the lame man at the Beautiful Gate. They discovered that in that Way 'the lame will leap like the deer'!
Through the Celebration, together we determine to walk in this Way of Holiness, asking for the Holy Spirit's correction and guidance day by day. Our joy is that we will surely enter Zion (the complete and beautiful Bride of Christ) with singing!
Prayer breakout in Ireland helped by '07 Celebration
Keren Lilley recently wrote saying that she wants to come to this years Celebration and gave this testimony:
It's been amazing what a prayer network is breaking out between intercessors in the North and South of Ireland, ever since I bumped into the guys from the Belfast House of Prayer at the first Celebration for the Nations. It's amazing how God brought us all over to Llanelli, to link up Cork and Ulster!
They had been praying for a connection in Cork for some time, and since then, their visits down here to pray for the city have been so encouraging - confirming prophecies that had almost grown old.
Speaking of one vision the Lord has given her about a move of God in Cork that will release Irish young people back into the nations again, Keren writes:
I saw these Irish young people heading out with scarves wrapped round their foreheads - just like I'd seen on some of the Koreans that week, and I was asking God what those scarves meant - He said they were the scarves of martyrs that were heading out already willing for that calling, and because of that readiness, nothing could stop them ...
Church Leaders Celebration Breakfast
March 11 at 8.30am is the time fixed to bring together local church leaders to present more of the vision of Celebration for the Nations. Two of the church leaders we have been working more closely with will present some ideas they have of how Celebration can help the local community and work alongside local churches, particularly in the afternoons. We would then like to listen to ideas from other leaders and have a time of prayer together.
Please do pray for this gathering. We would like as large a cross section of denominations as possible to be involved, including the Welsh speaking ones. Until now, we have only had three acceptances (besides the two pastors we are working with). We realise that Church leaders are busy people, but if this is on the Lord's agenda for them, join us in praying that they recognise it.
Bookings
Could we encourage you to book in if you already know that you are coming for the Celebration. Not only does this help us with the logistics, but even your £20 booking fee will help to cover some of the upcoming costs.
Accommodation
We are approaching the Council about the possibility of having a camp site on the field next to the Selwyn Samuel Centre. This is not usually allowed, but it would be wonderful if they would make an exception. Please ask the Lord to give us favour with the council.
Postcards
We have mailed out hundreds of postcards inviting people to the Celebration. Please pray that God will use them to draw the worshippers. If you could help to distribute postcards please email us your postal address and say how many you could use. Thanks.
Revival Korea
Revival Korea are in the USA in March. May their worship lead people to the Throne. Lord bring your chosen ones from America and Canada to the Celebration!
We have just received a £2000 gift towards the Celebration. Praise God. Please continue to join us in prayer for all that is needed. Thank you so much for your fellowship in this part of extending the Lord's kingdom on earth,
Gail and the Celebration Team.
