Celebration Update January 2009

Praise God for another New Year to walk with him and demonstrate his goodness, as we celebrate his love.

The voice of the Lord is majestic
'his voice was like the sound of rushing waters' (Revelation 1:15).
The written word of God is wonderful, yet as we read it, if we listen, we can overhear the voice of the Lord, which is filled with the water of life! Jesus tells us that 'the sheep listen to his voice' and he 'calls his own sheep by name and leads them out' (John 10). Can you hear him speaking your name? The Lord of the Universe is calling for you!

As we ask the Lord for the wells to spring up, we need to keep close to him, and listen for his voice. We are not interested in repeating a nice event. We are longing for the rushing waters of his voice! The wonderful thing is that Jesus is more eager to give this water, even than we are to receive it.

'If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink' (John 7:37).

As we drink (listen) by faith, he goes on to say that those same streams of living water will flow from our hearts. We will have life words to speak (and sing) to others. Our own voices become living water. This is what happened at the first Pentecost, as the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, and has been happening down through the ages ever since that time.

Eventually there will be a glorious worship time in heaven:

'Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the sound of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!' (Revelation19:6-7).

Celebration for the Nations is practice for that event!

Selwyn Samuel Centre
Praise God, the Centre does hold up to 1200 people (maybe a bit less depending on how much staging we need). Please continue to pray for the Lord to draw the worshipper warriors!

We have also been told that it is a very good venue acoustically!

Catering can all happen on site, with reasonable prices (for the UK!). That is another answer to prayer. Also we have been given a small meeting room for leaders/prayer etc. for free! God is helping with all these details.

Communication and Co-operation
Please pray as we develop and design the literature that is needed, and make the Celebration known in the UK and elsewhere.

Afternoons this year will be a little different. We are attempting to work very closely with local churches. Some pastors are suggesting that it may be possible to work alongside local church initiatives in blessing the local community. Please pray for inspiration and good communication as we work together.

Celebration North Africa!
After Celebration Summer 2008 a Wild Step training team went to North Africa for three months. They determined, because of what they saw in the Celebration, that the main priority of their lives there would be to worship the Lord. After three months none of them wanted to come back! Some of the team are still there. They have settled well, and are learning Arabic and making many friends. A veteran Korean missionary who has been helping them has just visited us in Wales. He testified that the life they brought through the Celebration has refreshed him greatly, and that now he too wants to make his main priority to be a worshipper! As Jesus is lifted up, he will draw all men to himself.

There is also a strong possibility that Koh Hyung Won will be able to go, with a team from Revival Korea, to the same North African country to minister to the Lord, and lead workers and national believers there in worship.

Reopen the wells
I just received a phone call from an Egyptian prayer warrior I know. She knew nothing about Celebration for the Nations but the Lord put a prophetic word on her heart that she must come to Wales and talk about reopening the wells! She will share with us at our monthly Celebration meeting on January 12th.

Berlin meets Seoul
Christian Stockmann, who led worship in the '07 Celebration for Germany is in Korea this month with a friend, Alex, leading worship and praying for revival. Christian writes:We would love to meet up with everybody who is connected with us through the Spirit of REVIVAL.

Don't grow weary!
The Celebration is not until the summer, but we can choose to live in personal revival, as we pray for national revivals! Keep worshipping Jesus! Let's repent of anything that keeps us from worshipping him. Daily, hourly, minute by minute, may our lives be worship to him, because he is worthy!

Do you know what? As we choose to do that, he gives such joy! How silly I am when I let worries or selfishness get in the way of worship! Lord forgive me, and teach me to be a worshipper warrior!
